About Classics

Classics on Main featuring Barnhill Britt Furniture, opened in 2000 by Cheryl Neufeld, represented an outgrowth of the efforts started by furniture maker Darwin Britt in 1981, and continued by John Barnhill in 1995.

The furniture crafted by Barnhill Britt features classic straight-forward designs and is constructed from antique longleaf pine with traditional joinery and finishing techniques. The craftsmen are skilled in cabinet making techniques and recognize the need for each signature piece to be constructed to exacting standards.

Classics also features local and international artists in painting, wood turning, glass blowing, pottery, carving, basketry, and weaving. The focus is on a neutral palette and simple lines. The look is one of minimalism and warmth, offering unique art and accessories which are both flexible in format and long lasting………with a touch of whimsy and a dash of drama en blanc et noir.

A grand piano graces the entrance to Classics, and local young talented musicians are featured on the weekends.
